Larry the Letter Carrier jumped into Tennessee the other day and we were so happy to see him! We ran up to him bleating and maaing and he was like, whoa mates – put it in a letter so I can share with my online friends!

Hello! We are Cat and Izz – the greatest of all time goat friends forever! We have been hanging out and playing since we were just kids! We are always happy when new and old friends come to Butterfly Farms! Let’s go arm in arm and explore the green pastures all around us!

Most days you will find us lazing and grazing, but other days we are prancing and dancing! Cat loves to munch on wildflower blooms. I prefer eating legumes! But we both love to chew on kudzu!
In the spring when the sun is bright and the weather is just right Cat loves to sing. I can sit and listen to her for hours! Her voice is her superpower. Cat’s voice is strong and loud and carries over the clouds. The melody rains down on the goats throughout the town.

Summertime is fun time! Feasting on lavender fields until we have our fill! Climbing on rocks (don’t forget the sunblock)! Sunsets over Lakeland Lake are dynamic with our vision that happens to be panoramic. But Libertyland was the best place to be. The amusement park was so amusing we stayed all day.
In winter we mostly wonder what’s for dinner! Toasty oats are enjoyed the most. We see lights flashing red and green – but the blue lights at Graceland are the brightest ever seen. Celebrating the new year, we are full of cheer with our lop ears!
Fall is best of all. So many things to do and see with Cat and Izz – like going to the Lucy Opry and clogging to the Bluegrass music. Banjos going twangy plink, upright bass swaying, playing thump plunk. Jumping on a hayride under a star lit sky. With a tired yawn we head back to the barn, but no time to stop – so we do a little skip and a hop and join in square dancing and roll away to a half sashay.

Three hundred sixty-five days of the year you will find us here at Butterfly Farms, with all of its rustic southern charm. Some days you might find us up in a tree with our friend Teege, he is always around – just one of the GOATS!

We might not make it on reality TV, but a day in the life of Cat and Izz (and Teege) we really love!
Remember, writing is right on! So, write a comment below.
Your friends,
Cat and Izz
PS: Happy Birthday Cat! Hope your day is the GOAT!
Do you remember? What does Cat like to munch on? What is the name of the amusement park Cat and Izz liked to go to in the summertime? What kind of music did they play at the Lucy Opry?
Additional tidbits: The places that Cat and Izz visited were real places in Memphis history! Libertyland was a large amusement park within the city limits. It opened on July 4, 1976. It featured rides like the Zippin Pippin – a large wooden roller coaster that was a favorite ride of Elvis. The Grand Carousel was also a favorite ride, and it now is found at the Children’s Museum of Memphis. The park closed in 2005. Lakeland’s lake’s name was Garner Lake (but locals would just say, “we are going to Lakeland”), it had a white sandy beach and was a great summer get away. Goats can really climb trees, just not the ones in Memphis, Tennessee – you will need to go to Morocco in North Africa to see a tree full of goats! Goats have horizontal rectangular shape pupils so they can see almost everything around them, giving them panoramic vision. Goats truly are GOAT – they are one of the earliest domesticated livestock animals – dating back over 11,000 years!

I truly Loved the story of Cat and Lss the Goar GFF’s, you can really feel the Love they both have from being around each other. They have been Blessed with a very special gift of Friendship! 💜💜
